After last year inaugural edition, the 2nd Education and Innovation Summit is taking place in hybrid format, online and in Brussels, on 27 June 2023.
The Education and Innovation summit brings together the main players in education and innovation. It will strengthen cooperation and inspire the wider education, research and innovation community to promote an entrepreneurial and innovation-driven culture in Europe.
The 2nd edition, in line with the priorities of the European Year of Skills, will focus on the development of talent and future-proof skills.
YERUN Secretary General, Silvia Gomez Recio, will participate as a panellist in the breakout session “What it takes to develop innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education institutions: mobilising resources”, taking place form 14:00 to 15:30 CEST. Panellists will discuss: possible ways to reinforce the education and innovation nexus by mobilising available opportunities for transnational cooperation (Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, EIT funding, etc.) to build a European innovation trajectory for the HEIs, according to their strengths and needs; concrete examples of best practices developed by European universities alliances to make the most of funding opportunities from different funding streams; the question of human resources and careers policy developments needed to support and recognise better the work of academics involved in developing innovation and entrepreneurship activities; the key role of cities and regions in mobilising resources and support innovation activities in interaction with the business and the higher education sectors
