The anticipation of a new year creates excitement and eagerness for the adventures that await. When working in academia, at universities, we have the privilege but also the duty to craft, create and invent pieces of the future. As universities we positively impact the young citizens’, our students’ and future alumni’s way of thinking and acting. Moreover, we focus on conducting quality research not just for creating and expanding knowledge, but also for improving people’s lives. During this festive season, my wish for our unique and special communities is to deepen our collaboration for bringing in the frontline new knowledge and experiences that will positively benefit us all, as partners, as friends, as neighbours, as members of the continent we all love and share, our common home, Europe.
