From University Carlos III Madrid –> To University of Rome Tor Vergata
The stay financed by the YERUN network has been carried out in the area of Scientometrics and science & technology evaluation.
This line of research is developed by the visiting researcher at the Laboratory on Metric Information Studies (LEMI) at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. In this field, the activities carried out are the analysis of institutions, thematic areas, scientific journals and countries. Scientometric techniques are also applied to the evaluation of researchers and institutions. The visiting researcher is also a member of the INAECU Institute for Science and University Assessment, which analyses the scientific activities of Spanish universities.
The host research team belongs to the Department of Engineering and Management of the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’ (Italy) linked to the Laboratory of Research Evaluation Studies. This group is an international benchmark in the field of Scientometrics and has long-standing expertise in the field of university evaluation in Italy. It has been very valuable to know a team that approaches the subject of science assessment from a different perspective.
The thematic affinity has made it possible to exchange methodologies, learn more about the reality of the Italian higher education system and discuss the results of ongoing research. I think the RMA’s initiative is excellent because it allows for intensive contact and work with a prestigious group from another university in the network.
Daniela de Filippo was awarded one of the 26 Research Mobility Awards of the 1st call for applications that YERUN offered in 2018.
