Thanks to the YERUN mobility award, I was able to visit Dr. Alexandra Xanthaki and Dr. Derek Groen at Brunel London University. They are part of the consortium of the H2020 proposal called Active management of migration to promote successful integration (AMMProSI) that I am coordinating from the UAB. The three of us have developed the general objectives, impact and innovative elements of the project. Also, we have worked on WP1 (Ethics) and WP5 (Infrastructure), the work packages in which Brunel will participate as a partner. In addition, I have attended several seminars and conferences related to migration law and international relations.
These two weeks have been extremely fruitful and relevant for the research project I am preparing at the moment. Therefore, I have extended my placement at Brunel until December 2018. During the time of my placement I will continue participating in the Brunel Law School Research Seminars 2018/2019 and I will be working with my colleagues at Brunel in the proposal draft for the H2020 project.
Cristina Blasi is a postdoctoral researcher at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) since September 2015. She is a researcher and lecturer on EU matters in the Law Faculty. After she completed her Law Degree in 2007, she completed a Master degree on EU integration (Barcelona, 2008) and a LL.M. on EU Law (Saarland, 2009). She carried out a Ph.D. in Law at the European University Institute (Florence, 2015), in which she specialized in EU privacy and data protection law. As for her professional experience, she carried out paid internships at the Legal Service of the European Commission (2010), the European Supervisor of Data Protection (2012) and Europol (2013). Cristina Blasi has 7 years of teaching experience to undergraduate and graduate students at several universities, as well as a vast research experience on projects funded by the Spanish government and by the European Commission. She is currently part of two ongoing projects on i) privacy and security and ii) EU and international cooperation in the fight of human trafficking and human smuggling, both economically supported by the Spanish Government.
Cristina Blasi was awarded one of the 26 Research Mobility Awards of the 1st call for applications that YERUN offered in 2018.
