- Essex Human Rights Summer School (Online, 27 June – 8 July 2022)
The Essex Human Rights Centre presents its popular summer school on Human Rights from Monday 27 June – Friday 8 July 2022. Held virtually again for 2022, the summer school will be delivered in an online live interactive format split over two weeks.
Following the success of the 2021 event and the excellent feedback received, the teaching programme will once again cover a range of research methods and skills necessary for successful human rights practice and professional development. In addition to this, there will be sessions on advocacy, organisational management, coping strategies and practitioner case studies. The full curriculum can be found on our website.

- Essex Analytics, Data Science and Decision-Making Summer School (Colchester, 25 July – 5 August 2022)
The Institute for Analytics and Data Science presents its annual Summer School, from Monday 25 July – Friday 5 August 2022. Taking place in person at our Colchester Campus, delegates have the option of attending for one week or two weeks.
The Summer School provides a unique opportunity to attend state-of-the-art courses delivered by world-leading academics and industry partners from around the globe and network with peers in an invaluable forum for knowledge exchange.
Course themes include Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, R, Optimisation and new for 2022 – Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI). - Essex Summer School in Social Science Data Analysis (Colchester and online, 22 July – 19 August 2022)
The Essex Summer School in Social Science Data Analysis provides world-leading social science methods training to postgraduate research students by offering instruction from an internationally renowned faculty, drawn from the world’s top research institutions.
The core Summer School consists of three two-week sessions:
- Session One: Sunday 10 July – Friday 22 July 2022
- Session Two: Sunday 24 July – Friday 5 August 2022
- Session Three: Sunday 7 August – Friday 19 August 2022
Our event in 2022 will offer a combination of in-person and online courses, covering various types of quantitative and qualitative research methods, research design, techniques for data collection and measurement, as well as mathematics. More information can be found on our website.
We offer participants from YERUN institutions our Academic Partner Rate – this is £900 for the first 35-hour course and then £700 for any additional course in any given summer school year.
