From University of Konstanz –> To Maastricht University
My visit at the University of Maastricht took place from June 10th till June 15th 2018. My local host was Prof. Simon de Jong of the Organisation and Strategy department of the School of Business and Economics.
Together with Prof. De Jong I worked on three current research papers on: the relationship between leadership behaviors and diversity climates in organizations in a time-lagged data set of 42 companies; the role of intrinsic and extrinsic human-resource management practices in a sample of 44 work teams; and, the role of top management team unity on employees’ perceptions of trust in the TMT in a sample of 42 companies. Beyond existing projects, we also started new research cooperations. Most prominently, we brainstormed about a new research idea in the field of absenteeism research.
For the future, we plan to intensify both our personal collaboration, but also the general exchange between the University of Konstanz and the University of Maastricht. Concretely, we explored opportunities about an exchange program for PhD students and potentially for a double-degree program on the Master level. Next spring semester Prof. de Jong plan to visit me in Konstanz to further increase our research, funding and teaching cooperation.
