Engaged research design for sustainability: BIP programme 2024/2025

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for early-career PhD students to participate in the Engaged Research Design for Sustainability (BIP Programme) for 2024/2025. This innovative programme, co-organised by the University of Limerick in Ireland and YERUN – Young European Research Universities Network-, offers PhD students a chance to enhance their research skills and contribute to global sustainability efforts.

Designed to equip participants with the tools, knowledge, and interdisciplinary insights required to address today’s complex challenges, this programme places a strong focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through a combination of in-person and digital learning, students will explore how their research can drive meaningful change and address critical sustainability issues.

Programme objectives:

The aim of this training programme is to facilitate PHD students in building transdisciplinary relationships with peers and mentors, to enable collaborative learning, and to introduce you to the ways and means that you can develop more stakeholder engagement in your research.

Programme structure:

  • Physical component: From 19 to 34 January 2025 at the University of Limerick
  • Digital component: From 3 February to 25 April, online
