On 15 June 2020, YERUN held its General Assembly, in an online format. The meeting was originally planned to take place in beautiful Maastricht, hosted by Maastricht University, but was convened virtually due to the current travel restrictions.
The day started off with a special meeting on COVID-19, which provided an occasion for experts from YERUN member institutions to exchange views and practices on three previously identified topic: teaching staff/digital education, student support and campus management. The shared information will feed into YERUN’s vision on the future of higher education in Europe and the impact that the pandemic will have on shaping it.

“There is no one-size-fits-all, no miraculous panacea, but there is our ability to identify common challenges and work towards common solutions, while embracing the differences that characterise and enrich our network. This is why, within YERUN, we strongly believe in the power of sharing good practices and learning from each other”, said YERUN President, Prof. Bernd School-Reiter (Rector, University of Bremen).
Following this special meeting, YERUN members met in the General Assembly to discuss the progress made and the activities to further undertake. The upcoming new Strategy 2021-2025 of the network and its enlargement were important points of discussion.
The YERUN President and the YERUN Brussels Office thank all participants and look forward to the joint activities of the upcoming months.
