Last week, 30th and 31st of March, YERUN participated in a two-days event hosted by NOVA University Lisbon for the SECURE project.
The project started in January 2023 and will be operational for 2 years.
In line with ERA action 4 on research careers, SECURE will develop a Researcher Career Framework that will depart from the European framework for Research Careers -being currently developed by the European Commission- and delve into the intricacies of tenure track-like models. Aspects of the Researcher Career Framework and tenure track-like models will be trialled at four research performing organisations (among them, three of our members, UCY, UNIRI and UNL), one research funding organisation and one recruitment agency with the goal of improving research careers and reducing career precarity.
During the meetings, partners analysed the career development systems of its trial organisations and delimited the scope of the Researcher Career Framework and the tenure track-like models, focusing on the most important aspects for the careers of researchers.
YERUN is enthusiastic to be part of this European project which brings together like-minded partners that are committed to advancing European policies on areas that are key to the improvement of academic’s lives.
