We have outlived another challenging year: a year denoted by war, economic, financial, and energy crises, the consequences of the climate crisis, demographic challenges, and the resultant decline of public trust in institutions and systems. However, the circle of life continues, reminding us that our venture for more understanding, collaboration, peace, and justice never ends. Living in a time when democratic values, human rights, and the rule of law are imperiled, we must never give up our institutional and personal duties of cultivating humanity and caring for every person’s well-being.
Despite these challenges, we have also managed to achieve great things this year, remaining hopeful as we embark on the New Year ahead. Let me thank all YERUN members, friends, and colleagues for helping us grow and achieve our enterprising goals. May your holiday season be filled with joy, peace, and laughter, and the spirit of strength and wisdom be with you throughout the upcoming year. With that in mind, it is my utmost pleasure to wish all YERUN members – our students, teachers, researchers, and staff – a healthy, prosperous, and flourishing 2023.
