As a member of the ECIU University alliance, Dublin City University is working with its partner universities to transform higher education, research and innovation through a challenge-based approach.
Focusing on UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 ‘Sustainable cities and communities’, the ECIU University brings together students, researchers and societal stakeholders from across the network to work together to collectively tackle local, national and international problems and offers a unique opportunity to actively contribute to real societal progress and change. To achieve this, DCU’s front runners in Citizen Science are sharing their expertise across the consortium in an ongoing webinar series and helping to build a strong ECIU community to embed citizens and society in the research process.
Collaborative research across the network is also being bolstered by the recent relaunch of the Research Mobility Fund which supports researchers to develop and strengthen ECIU partnerships in SDG 11 research fields.
Driving innovative leadership within ECIU, Dublin City University recently hosted the ECIU Leadership Development Programme, which brings together university staff from across the network to cultivate their leadership potential and work together on the implementation of ECIU University.
These activities, among many others, continue to build the foundations of an open, flexible, and challenge-based university model as ECIU works towards its Vision 2030.
